Description

Quercus × warei ‘Long’ / Regal Prince® Oak

Planting Points: Strongly upright and oval‑columnar, maintaining a tight form ideal for limited spaces. Hybrid vigor gives it excellent disease resistance — especially to powdery mildew and anthracnose. Very tough and urban‑tolerant, handling pollution, compacted soils, and road salt better than many oaks. Deep green, glossy leaves resemble English oak but with better durability. Acorn production is typically light, making it cleaner than many oaks. Moderate growth rate; faster than English oak, slower than Swamp White Oak.

Siting This Tree: Excellent for narrow boulevards, streetscapes, or urban corridors where width is limited. Works beautifully as a vertical accent or in formal alleés. Great for residential yards needing a tall tree with a restrained canopy. Suitable for parks, campuses, and commercial landscapes. Avoid poorly drained, constantly wet soils and extremely alkaline sites.
